Schools Program

The Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) has developed a one-hour Mental Health and Well-being Seminar to be delivered to young Primary school children, senior Primary school children, and to Secondary school children. The aim of this program is to promote mental health education, equipping students with the confidence and skills to better look after their mental health, alongside assisting schools to create a safer, more inclusive environment in which for students to address their mental health struggles. The program is free of charge to the school and time and location is flexible to suit the school’s needs, as decided by the school.

The Mental Health Foundation Australia strongly believes that programs like this are exactly what is required to not only improve mental health literacy and education for students, but also to help reduce the considerable stigma that still surrounds the topic of mental illness.

However, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic outbreak we have had to postpone all further seminars as a part of this program for the time being. That being said, the MHFA recognises that during this difficult time, students, teachers, and parents need our support more than ever.

So, to support the mental health and well-being of students, teachers, and parents, we are providing mental health information that we hope will assist the community with managing the mental health impacts of studying online.

Please feel free to share, print, and disperse the below information when reaching out to your school community and trying to navigate these challenging times.
